PROGRAMS
Competitive
The
Hamilton Hoppers Competitive team allows children to learn skills, work in
groups and gain the experience of competition. Members will learn both single rope and
double dutch skills.
Competitive
members practice Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to prepare
for competitions which are run in February, April and May.
Competitions: Jump rope competitions have both team
and individual events that members will train for throughout the season. Members are grouped together with 1 to 3
other jumpers within their age category to compete in 1 to 11 speed and
freestyle team events. Also,
athletes will compete in 3 individual speed/endurance events and 1 individual
freestyle.

Recreational
Hamilton
Hoppers run three recreational programs throughout the season. Each program includes 8 sessions
where children learn new skills and techniques in single rope and double dutch
along with some exciting demonstration skills.
The first
program runs from October to December.
Two other programs will be scheduled throughout Winter and Spring. Each program runs for 8 weeks for an
hour and a half on Tuesday evenings.
Children
can attend one or all three programs throughout the season.
All ages
are welcome and NO experience is required.
This is
not only a great way for children to become involved in an amazing sport, but
provides them with weekly exercise and a safe learning space to interact with
other children.
Recreational
members work through a series of skill levels and will start putting skill
together to form a synchronized routine.
The next Recreational
will start January 9th,
2018
Anyone is welcome to register.

Workshops
In
the fall and spring, we run an all day workshop on a Saturday for groups and
interested individuals. Hopper coaching staff instruct the young
enthusiasts in single rope, double dutch, chinese wheel and long rope skills.
Cross Training
The speed
and endurance drills that competitive skippers do on a regular basis increase
power, stamina and endurance in any athlete. Our program teaches other
athletes and their coaches how to perform the drills to enhance speed and
performance. Give us one hour of your time and we will show you and
your athletes the drills you need to make a difference.
